WHAT IS TOURETTE SYNDROME?

Tourette Syndrome or TS is a neuro-developmental or brain-based condition which causes involuntary sounds and movements called tics. Tics might include rapid, sudden movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly. Tics can be simple or complex (which involves multiple muscle groups) and may be challenging for many.

Tourette Syndrome affects 1 in 100 Canadians, and the average onset of symptoms generally begins around the ages of 4-7 years. Currently, there is no cure for Tourette Syndrome.
